Why I built it
I have never kept a system alive for more than a week. My attention wanders, work eats everything, and every app I tried made me feel worse about it. I built the first version of this in 2014 and abandoned it, which is on brand. This year I rebuilt it so I could see my whole life at once without anything yelling at me. It has survived more skipped days than any system I've ever had.

Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It's a web app you add to your home screen. No app store. It takes about twenty seconds.
iPhone: open nynlyf.app in Safari. Tap the Share button (the square with the arrow at the bottom of the screen). Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add. NynLyf now has its own icon, like any app.
Android: open nynlyf.app in Chrome. Tap the three dots at the top right. Tap Add to Home screen (on some phones it says Install app), then Add.
Open it from that icon from now on. It fills the screen and works offline too.
Does it sync between my phone and my laptop?
Yes. Sign in with the same email on each device and your tiles follow you. Everything also works offline and catches up when you're back online.
What is Paper view?
The original 2014 version. One black and white sheet with only the tiles you use, tasks underneath, cards you can fold and move anywhere. Toggle it from the top of the app. Same life, drawn two ways.
Will it send me notifications?
No. You can put a date on a to-do and it shows as due inside the app. That's it.
What if I skip a day?
It stays empty. That's the whole point.
Is this an ADHD app?
It's a life app built by someone who cannot keep a streak alive. If that's you, diagnosed or not, you'll feel at home.
Why a cat?
